Hey, first of all, welcome to my website https://livingthatgamerlife.com/ and thanks for checking out this page about me, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see that you actually care enough to know who I am and what I’m about.
I made this site specifically for writing about my experiences and thoughts about games that I’ve played, sort of like an online journal if you will.
A little passion project to help me deal with real life constructively and calmly because honestly, without games, I’d go insane.
I started playing games when I was just in elementary school. We’d go to my cousin’s place every weekend and they always had the latest gaming consoles and handhelds, I’d always watch my older cousins play and would be fascinated by it all.
The first game I actually got to play was Tales of Symphonia on the Nintendo Gamecube, that was the one game that got me hooked and I have been faithful to the genre ever since, it’s like comfort food to me, except in game form.
I’ve been playing games for most of my life now, I love playing all kinds of them, I think I’ve enjoyed every type there is out there; simulation, strategy, racing, online multiplayer, shooters, VR and of course my mainstream style of game, single player RPG’s.
I also like to watch lots of gaming videos and read up on upcoming games that I’m looking forward to but, that’s not all I’m interested in.
Watching anime, reading books, going out to enjoy nature, spending time with friends and family as well as working out are also a few more things that I like to do. Don’t know if that old stereotype about how a gamer is a shut in, being out of shape and living in their parent’s basement is still believed out there, but if it is, it couldn’t be further from the truth, for me at least.
Granted there are people who are like that, but not all of them are gamers.
What the Site is About Now
As of right now, this website is a place where I can record my thoughts and opinions on the games I’ve played, essentially writing my own reviews. There are many sites out there that offer reviews and opinions on games that haven’t been completely played through. You know those critic scores on games? Well, I think some of those ratings are incomplete and sometimes misleading too.
Have you ever played a game that was scored low but you wanted to try it for yourself to see if the game was as bad or good as they say? I have, and I found many of the games to be poorly and unfairly rated, some games that I’ve played were given low scores, but when I played them, I found them to be quite enjoyable.
One game I remember playing is called Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, it was fun and pretty good in my opinion, but sadly it didn’t get much traction and soon faded away. Now, the studio that made the game doesn’t exist anymore and it makes me sad to know that there won’t be a sequel to such a rich open world game.
So, I just want to put my thoughts out there and bring reviews and news about games that I have completed and thoroughly researched to help gamers make a more informed and educated decision about which games to play next and what they can expect out of them. There might even be some hidden gems here.
What I Want this Site to Become
I’m hoping to make this site grow into something bigger, to be able to encompass all facets of the gaming life, making it a place where gamers will go to for the latest news, product reviews and suggestions on which virtual adventures to experience next.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions about anything gaming related or you’re just looking for a recommendation on which one to play next, feel free to drop a line down in the comments section and I will be more than happy to help you out.
